Modern Art.

Maybe it is not something that the average person is experiencing on a daily basis, but it turns out that you do not have to study at the Academy of Fine Arts to admire and contemplate works of art. MOCAK's mission is to present contemporary art to viewers of all ages and all levels of cultural knowledge. So to sum up - this museum is for everyone :)

You will learn examples of  Polish and foreign artists' work, you will learn what has been going on in the art for the last 20 years and, above all, you will spend your time in very pleasant surroundings. A mobile app is available to download on the museum's website - it will help you understand everything better and will make navigating through the building much easier.

You can visit a bookstore, a library with a reading room and a cafe - a very nice option, don't you think?

What's up in MOCAK

Permanent exhibitions:

  • the collection located outside of the building refers to the following issues: the Holocaust, the history of art, the history of politics and interventions in public space,
  • Live Factory 2: Warhol by Lupa - interactive installation. Are you curious what the favorite meeting spot of the most famous New York artists looked and felt like? Oh, and it was founded by Warhol, so needless to say it was...bizarre.
  • MOCAK collection - divided into sections: conceptualism, video, sculpture, and object.

In addition, MOCAK hosts temporary exhibitions and interesting, reflection-encouraging projects.

Interesting facts

The MOCAK building, designed by Claudio Nardi's Architette Studio, contains adapted buildings of the former enamel factory of Oscar Schindler and one completely new building that fits in the industrial style of Zabłocie perfectly. The exhibition area is over 4000 m2.

MOCAK's projects are developed for diverse groups of recipients. An important task of the institution is to try to reduce prejudices against the latest art.
