Important Visitor Information
Due to the ongoing redevelopment project, “Former Monastery – Former Prison – Modern Museum,” most exhibition spaces and the main entrance area of the museum are currently undergoing extensive modernization. As a result, until the end of 2027, visitors can access one permanent exhibition only: “Prehistory and the Middle Ages of Lesser Poland”, presented in a newly redesigned format.
Please note that during this period it is not possible to visit the Zbruch Idol (Światowid ze Zbrucza) or the Egyptian Exhibition.
Temporary Entrance
While modernization works are in progress, all visitors should use the temporary entrance located at: Senacka 3 Street, Kraków.
Important info
- You can get to the Museum by public transport (tram stop: Filharmonia / Plac Wszystkich Świętych)
- There are paid car parks near the museum (within the monastery of the Franciscans and at the Radisson hotel)
- Exchange your printed voucher for a ticket at the Museum ticket office
- The last entrance to each Museum is 30 minutes before closing time
- To get a student discount students must have a valid student ID card
- You can cancel the reservation free of charge until the start time
- The ticket applies to permanent and temporary exhibitions (exception The exhibition „Pompeii. Life and Death in the Shadow of Vesuvius”).

Yes, it is necessary. You will not receive a ticket without a printed voucher. If you need help printing it out, please visit our Tourists Information Point. Our consultants will print it out for you.
Unfortunately, the building is not adapted for people with physical disabilities. There is a possibility of lighting the rooms that are dim. It is possible to enter exhibitions with a guide dog.
